finding your roots, your path will be so much smoother with the knowledge and
techniques that can be accessed as a member of this group.
We now have computer access to the Ancestry web site for searching the census records for 1851 to 1901 in addition to many other birth, death and marriage records.
A wealth of local information is also available at the Warwickshire County Record Office.
The Records Office has also recently launched its online catalogue "Warwickshire's Past Unlocked" which describes many of the original archives held at the Warwickshire County Records Office. Charting over 900 years of Warwickshire's documentary past it provides an electronic signpost to these fascinating documents.
The sessions are held in the Coffee lounge where novices and experts mix in a relaxed atmosphere as a 'self help' group. From time to time, guest speakers are invited to talk on associated subjects.
Equipment available for the use of members are:-
Computer with free internet connection, fiche reader, black & white and colour printing, overhead projector and book-binding facilities.
All newcomers are very welcome.
Normal Cost - £3.00 / session. (Cost may be more for sessions with guest speakers)
